Look Without Staring
Alex Casey didn’t have the most conventional start to life. His mother, only nineteen, was forced to dump him on his father’s doorstep as a baby.
Growing up in Dublin’s dockland, responsibility comes early, so does death. Twenty-two years later, when his mentor is brutally tortured and murdered, Alex unwittingly finds himself caught up in a dangerous criminal operation. Realising his life and the family business are at risk, he teams up with his cousin Toots and her boyfriend, the computer whizz-kid Willy McNabb. They need to find out who is behind a series of murders linked to two books of coded messages.
With the unlikely help of the influential Senator Eugene O’Gorman and his chauffeur Peter, they narrowly escape the clutches of the ruthless criminals and a group of Chechen mercenaries.
Running for their lives across Ireland, Alex and his friends eventually find sanctuary in Galway and face the final showdown. Will Alex be reconciled with his mother and come into his rightful inheritance?
