Me and the BBC
Myself, with Colum Arbuckle, the presenter, and Sean Donnelly, our host. Thanks to Marian McGreevy, secretary of the Shimna Branch of the U3A, I recently had the good fortune to be invited to read an excerpt from Look Without Staring at one of Sean Donnelly’s private sessions. Sean is a well known local singer-songwriter and the setting was in his wife’s art gallery, which doubles as a music room for Sean. The format was music, storytelling, and reading. But what made a special evening even more special was the presence of the BBC team who produce and present Time of Our Lives, a magazine programme for Radio Ulster. This recording will be broadcast on BBC Radio Ulster this Sunday, 18th February, 2-3pm. Here’s the link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09rz9ch. Don’t miss it if you want to listen in to a bit of craic.
Book signing and launch
I will be in Newcastle Library, Newcastle, Co. Down on Tuesday 5th December 2017 between 5pm and 8pm to launch Look Without Staring and to sign copies. From now until Christmas I am donating £1 from the sale of each copy to the Cancer Fund For Children and their wonderful Daisy Lodge Centre in the mountains of Mourne. The fund provides support for children, teenagers and young adults who are living with cancer, and their families. My target is to raise £1,000 by Christmas, so please come along on 5th December and show your support. If you can’t make it to Newcastle Library on 5th December, you can still help by buying a copy of the book from Amazon (click the link or search for Look Without Staring on Amazon) — it’s available in both paperback and Kindle.Look forward to seeing you!
