About John Bradley

Telling stories is as old as time itself, and the Irish are past masters at it. I hope to add my name to the prestigious list of authors that precede me.

The third of four brothers, I had a loving but strict upbringing. My father died when I was nine, and my mother ran the family bakery, and the family, single-handedly. Boarding school, management training in industry, a spell in the motor trade, then self-employment in furniture design and manufacture shaped the man I am now and taught me how to present myself and my ideas to a discerning public. When I designed a piece of furniture, a room-set or the room itself, the proposal was presented on paper (CAD was in its infancy when I started). The dialogue that accompanied the designs was critical in fleshing out the drawings. It was a form of storytelling. So there you are, that’s how we both arrived here.

I published the story Ballyduff House; or The Haunting of Johnnie B in 2015. Look Without Staring (2017) is my debut novel.

I hope you get as much pleasure reading my books as I do writing them.
